View Full Version : Calling Las Vegas People

I am planning to come and visit my sister in Vegas. I have mentioned this before but I think I have a date. Problay June 8th to the 13th. Leaving Sat morning. Like to visit you all if I can. She lives on the military base called Nellis AFB. Do you know where that is and how far are you from there?
My other sister is also flying in from NJ. It will be great. I can't wait.

Hey Farmers wife,
I know Miatapony and Appylover are with the AFB but appylover will be gone by those dates. I live on the other side of the world compared to the base and as for those dates, I've been trying to get time off from work to go to AZ for a trail ride.
How long will you be here? DUH I see your dates:( will have to play it by ear with my schedule.

I am sorry I will miss you. I will be in Oregon during those dates. I did not remember if you had already told me your sister lived on the base. What a small world. I hope you enjoy your visit here. Vegas does have some neat attractions so have lots of fun.

Yep. Right on the main side almost next to Freedom Park. My horse is even here with us boarded on the hospital side of the base.

Well I'll be here. I'd love to meet up while you are here! I don't live close to Nellis but I can drive.;) What are your plans with your sister while you are here? Doing any sight seeing? I'll pm you my contact info and we can figure things out.

I think my sisters want to go to Bingo, the strip and maybe the casino (I dont gamble, Maybe 20.00):)
I cant wait to come. I get to see both of my sisters and meet some new friends.

I just got my ticket. So I am ready to go. I hate plans. I have to take dranamine or I get sick. Last time I was jet lag for 2 days. But this time it is a no stop flight and I will sleep the whole way. :)

So are you leaving on Saturday the 13th? I would love to do a ride, I have a nice paint mare that you could use. Only problem is I work weekdays so it would either need to be an evening ride, which could be possible. If we rode out from my barn at 6pm we could get in a two hour ride and see the sunset over Red Rock Canyon. Or we could ride on Saturday if you will still be there that day.

Bingo is so much fun! I love the Bingo room at the Red Rock Casino the best.

That would be fun to go for a ride. I leave Saturday morning but a night ride would be nice also. I cant wait to visit with my 2 sister and meet some of you.:)

I'd love to come up.. I'm only 3 1/2hrs from Vegas but alas I don't think I can make it there. BUMMER!!!

One of these days I'm gonna get the Vegas Crew down here! lol...

Someday I'll have to meet up with you for a ride. I have a friend in Wildomar I can overnight my horse with.

I'd really like to go and ride on the beach at Imperial Beach sometime too.

I was wondering also if there is places down there to rent horses. They have never been on horses. Something close to where she lives.
I can't wait to meet with you all. I will call you when it gets closer so we can plan something. I am not getting into vegas till late Monday on the 8th.

Here is the one site of the horseback riding and ATV tours in Eldorado Canyon. 1-888-867-6259

The other company is Cowboy trails and they offer rides all over Utah, NV, and AZ. 702-387-2457.

I also know of one up in Mt. Charleston that has some nice trails (will have to get the number later when I get my computer back)

My favorite rental stable is Bonnie Springs ranch. The trails are beautiful and you can check out the Western Town after your ride. If your lucky you might even see one of the burro herds or spot the old mountain lion that lives back there (been there for years and has never bothered the horses). I trailer my horses up there to ride alot. www.bonniesprings.com

There isn't really anything close to Nellis unfortunately. Well, there is a place out on the 15 North but I won't recommend it because that lady needs to be shut down for good.:mad:

Forgot about Bonnie Springs DUH!!! However, their prices sure went UP since I've been there. WAY UP!

Yeah, I'm not up to date on their prices. It's probably been a good 5 years or so since I've paid for a local trail ride.

If you want a good, cheap, dance show to go to, go see IGNITE @ the Greek Isles hotel & casino. $35, $44, or $49. AWSOME!!!!!!!!

OMG I just got back form a Girls Weekend trip to Vegas. I have never been there and it is like a whole different planet !!!! We had a great time. Spent some time by the pool, gambled only a little, saw Cher and walked the strip. It was pretty hot, mid 90's +, but none of the humidity I get in VA. I imagine working outside in the heat can be tough, but to me, just walking around, it felt good. Hope you have a great time!
