I went out for an hour to read next to Willie's stall. Just trying to bond quietly with him.

So I set up my chair just outside his stall, which if course he had to inspect. "What is that?" Then I sat down in it and his ears really perked up. He wasn't used to me being down there! He snuffled me for a minute and then stuck his head back in the stall. I wanted his head back - so I started reading outloud to see if that would get his attention. Oh yes!

That head popped out and just hung there above me for close to 20 minutes before he moved again. However, in that time I also had the dog, 2 barn cats, and 5 muscovy ducks joint us and all were laying on my feet. Had to be a sight if anyone had seen it! LOL.

Of course I'm not sure if a romance book was the best choice for their young ears. LOL.

He,he! When I was a teen, I had a pony that was a real pain to catch when I first got her. I used to go out in the pasture and read a book- sooner or later, she'd get curious and come up to me.

I'd just pet her and keep reading. Eventually, she was easy to catch.

In the winter, I bundle up, grab his cooler and sit down next to him and read to him. Of course, he likes the Epic Fantasy with lots of battles and horses as the heroes (Mercedes Lackey!!).

He likes picture books too.

And, as you all know from his stories, he does not like training books!!!

I'm totally lol at this. I used to read outside Sterling's stall, or in it, or out in the pasture against a tree. . .and I never thought to read TO her!! Lol. People are going to start talking about you! lol. But I'm sure the critters enjoyed it!

Aw, that's so sweet! I once sat and read I book I had to review next to Arrow while he munched hay in the aisle, he stuck his nose in and tried to grab a page!

LOL - thankfully I'm not at a barn or something and am home here. Most of my neighbors think I'm weird anyways because I don't want kids and such, this will just be one more thing to add to their list of quirky things I do. LOL.
