Baywind Farm Horse Picture Contest?

Cloedoll had a similar contest on the Horse.com forum.. I was thinking maybe we could have one here, too, if she and the WBs don't mind.

This would be pretty similar to Cloedoll's old contest, only this time there will be open polls for each category so the whole forum gets to vote on who they think the best looking horse of each category(probably breed) is. The prize would be a doodle of the winner's horse by me. :)

As for preventing people from voting for their own horse, if this forum has one of those poll options where you can see who votes for who, then I would probably use that. Thats what a different forum does.

We almost really do need a category for grade horses. Though if a horse was registered in a breed registry but was a crossbreed- half Arab, for instance, which category would that horse go under? Something to think about...

As for the breed, I already thought about the categories. For crosses, they'd have a crosses category. For Miscellaneous breeds where there aren't more than one of the breed on the forum, they'd go in a "other" category.

I think I might just do color, though. It seems easier. :)

OMG, no kidding here, I was just about to make a new Beauty Contest thread this past weekend but some things came up so I couldn't! Creepy much?! :p I think it would be a great idea and if you want you can use the same categories/rules/etc. from the Beauty Contest at H.Com.

Action shots, head shots, standing portraits. Lots of options.

Judging on conformation wouldn't really be fair... I mean, it would, but that leaves my poor Kota out.:( His conformation is a mess, but if the judging is just on cuteness, etc he's in!:D

Any chance on making the deadline sometime in mid to late June? That way everyone (at least all the teenagers on here) will be done with school and have time to take pics and get the horses ready, and also so all of the horses will pretty much be completely shedded out and looking their best by then.:)

Ha, Spooky Caitlin & Half Passing. There will definitely be one, then. I just don't want to overload the forum when poll time comes around.. It will either be based off of color, health, etc like the last one was, or I could do categories like action, portraits, headshots, etc like Cheval mentioned. Input? Who wants to do what? What I don't do someone else could do.

If it's a picture contest, about the best picture, regardless of how the horse looks, I think you should do the action shots, portrait, etc. If it's a "beauty contest" I think the horse's pose shouldn't matter so much just how bee-you-tee-miss they are :D (conformation excluded, though because yeah, ya can't help that :p) and then you can decide if it should be by breeds or color - meh, I think it should be color because I don't know if we have enough breeds for each breed category to have steady competition..
