Here are some pictures. They aren't doing better yet but as bad as they are it may take longer. They did show interest in the carrots and apples I gave them yesterday. Took them a long time to eat them and I cut them into tiny pieces.

The vet said the ONLY reason they are alive is because they are Appy's. He said the Appy's are just one tough breed.

How can people let this happen?????? How can you look out your window every single day and see this?

OH NO! Did I miss a thread? Did you rescue these poor horses? I don't understand how someone could see this everyday and not think it was wrong! I hope they pull through...

I just cannot imagine allowing such a thing to happen to an animal. A person would have to be completely lacking a conscience.

These horses were delivered to our barn by Animal Control to nurse to health so they can be adopted out but there's some question as to whether that can happen. I've never seen a horse that looked like its soul already left it's body.

It's like they've given up.

I'd like for the judge to give the woman the same punishment she gave those horses. Let her starve.

Thats horrible :(. They remind me of our new rescue Bumper. I just don't understand how people could do this to horses. Its sick, and cruel, and sad

Luckily our BO is amazing at getting these horses back into shape. The most recent (another Appy) was just adopted out to her new home. Just hoping these poor guys can pull through.

I will. I just won't ever be able to comprehend people that could do this.

I'd like to get in and love on them because they seem to want attention but until the lice issue is dealt with all I can do is talk to them and feed them carrots/apples.

The darker appy is so funny - if you have any apple smell on her carrot she won't eat it. So my pocket knife has two blades and I have to use one to cut the carrots for her and one to cut the apple for the lighter horse.

They seemed more lively tonight when I went to feed for the BO. They both were shaking their grain buckets when they were done so I called the BO and asked if they could have more because they were asking for it and she told me they could. The lighter one even nickered when I brought the extra food.

In all honesty I don't think fines and jail time is enough for these people. There needs to be something else. Something very unpleasant but somehow still within the law. Or perhaps there needs to be a bending of the law for these types.

That is too bad it in not legal to have those people starve the same way. They certainly deserve it!
I hope those poor horses will pull through.
It really is sad!

I so hope this story has a happy ending. There is a special place in heaven for people who rehab horses like that. And I hope there is a special place in Hell for those who put them there in the first place.

I am so glad your BO is such a giving person and is willing to give these poor horses a chance. Hope you will keep us posted. You are right that it may take quite a while to mend these poor creatures physically and spiritually.

I am so glad that these horses have you and your BO taking care of them.

That person who let the horses get like that need to starve in jail for some time.
Kinda like being locked up in a stall with NO food.

Those poor poor babies :cry:There is no words to describe the horrible condition these poor horses are left in nor will I ever understand why people let this happen. But there are many words of thanks to people like you Cheval who help them to get a better life. I hope the lice clears up soon so you can give them the hugs they deserve to have.

Wow, that is just a horrible shame that someone would let that happen. I agree, this person who owned these horses should be beat and starved!
