It was a long day! Cheyenne and I got to the arena at 10:30AM and we didn't get home till 8:30 at night! There were LOTS of riders. The good news is Cheyenne placed in 4 out of 5 events.

I rode Dreamer and she did pretty good in the arena....but...we did have a pretty good rodeo when I came out of the arena...other than she hasn't been riden in awhile I'm not sure what happened, but she started bucking, then when I pulled her head up, she reared up pretty high. Everyone was yelling..."get off her!".....they thought she was going over. I rode it out and let her settle down...I did not get off her till I was back at the trailer....then I had to clean my pants...LOL.

I didn't place in any events, but I wasn't expecting to. I kept Dreamer at a walk or slow trot and did not push her. I just wanted her to have the exposure and even though the vet said to ride her, she was still abit off, until I put the boots on her, then she sis better.

This was the funniest part of the day. Cheyenne was running a "time only" and Ladybird decided she had to go "poop"..she just stopped in the middle of the pattern and did her business.....LOL. Cheyenne was so embarrassed, you can see she just crossed her arms on the saddle horn and sat there. The announcer was laughing and announced.."well at least she won't have to do THAT during the point event and she might go faster"...LOL

Sounds like you had a funny day, yet a scary one at the same time!

Nico's pretty good with that camerea- lots of really nice pics!

Cheyenne and Ladybird look great together as usual.:)

Great pics, Nico is a very good photographer! I'm glad you can ride Dreamer again, and great job hanging on for the rodeo!;) Sounds like a good time.:D

Great pics! Wow you and your daughter are both gorgeous! Glad you were able to ride out Dreamer's tantrum and no one was hurt. Sounds like an over all great day. That last pic cracks me up!

Look like so much fun!!! Cheyenne and Ladybird look great!!! Scary ...Dreamer...stop doing that!!!!I am glad you could ride it out, tho.

Hehe, I love that photo of Ladybird taking a "break".

I remember I was at my first show and when the judges clled for the horses to line up, Jasper stretched out and took the longest pee EVER. the judges were going down the line asking each horse to back up and they had to wait for Jasper to stop peeing because he was still going when they got to him.

It was a fun day! I was so glad I could ride even if I didn't place.

Cheyenne was soooooo embarassed about Ladybirds little "break". I knew she was gonna be mad when she came back to the trailer, but I just reminded her that this is all for fun and at that point she was just doing a practice run and not going for points. It was so funny to watch, because she came around the barrel and Ladybird stopped dead in her tracks...Chy was "trying" to kick her to make her go, and Ladybird just stood there till she was done...LOL...Ladybird has such a hay belly on her right now that Chy's heals really don't connect, so she is just flapping her legs...hehehehe....She still finished the pattern in under a minute!

Ladybird is such a patient horse. When Chy came back to the trailer she said..."Well if a lion had been chasing Ladybird, would she expect the lion to wait till she was done pooping before it tried to eat her?" I almost fell over laughing.....she pays close attention to some of the training videos and I never realized it till that comment....:hysterical:

I'm laughing right now about your daughter and Ladybird. I love how kids think! Love the pictures. Glad you both had a good time and Dreamer didn't do too bad

Congrats to Cheyenne on an awesome day! In that first pic of her on Ladybird their hair is even blowing the same way - they are like a perfectly matched set.:) Congrats to you too for staying on Dreamer during her fit!

I love that second picture of you and Cheyenne - you both look so pretty and happy.

My kids keep me on my toes and so do my horses....obviously...LOL
