And how does the horse act when she has one? I need to call my vet, but I noticed tonight that LAdybird was just peeing a LITTLE bit. Then when she did go a good amount she acted like she still had to go.

I was wondering what you all use for something like this?

I don't know, my horse has never had a UTI, if she actually has one the vet will put her on an antibiotic and give her something for the pain, I'm sure it's relatively easy to treat. My first guess though would not be a UTI, do you have a new gelding around or something? That sounds exactly like the displays of a mare in heat. Just squirting a little here and there but her parts are still pushing like shes trying to pee or "winking".... sounds to me like she's looking for a man : )

ETA If you really think it could be a uti, get the vet out asap- it's not serious but untreated could spread to her kidneys or worse

Stamin had a UTI right before we had her put down. She would paw deep hole and stand her front end in them to relieve pressure of the rear. She also quit drinking as much i think cause it hurt ot go the bathroom. She also had blood in her urine and dropped weight. I want to say the antibiotic the vet gave us was SMZ but i dont remember.

If she does have a UTI, its uncommon in horses and is usually a result of another problem.
