Gypsy Rose

(If this is in the wrong place, WB, go ahead and move it).
I'm just over the moon about Gypsy's vet check yesterday. Got her shots done, and then the vet went to check her teeth. He asked me, "What is she, 24 or 26?"
:jawdrop:As many of you know, Gypsy's 30!
He did discover that her far back teeth needed to be floated, so it was sedation time for the old girl. He had to use a very light dose because of her age.
Now for the surprise- she still had her wolf teeth! Granted, mares don't usually have much trouble with them but by the time they're Gypsy's age...needless to say, the vet just filed them down. No sense in pulling them on the grounds they'd never grow back in again long enough to give her any trouble. All of her teeth are still intact, and in great shape for her age, so that's a big bonus. No senior mash for my old girl yet!:p
And, whatever I'm doing with her feed and supplement program I'm to keep up, because as far as he could tell, she's in perfect health! Her rain rot sore is actually healing quickly, especially for her age.
Could be interesting to see how well she responds to the bit now, since her wolf teeth are filed down- kind of surprised he didn't catch them last year, except she HATES having her teeth checked, lol. He did a more thorough job this time when he realized how old she is!
Sorry no pics, Shadowdancer was taking a nap when the vet showed up- he slept through the rattling of the squeeze chute the vet was towing behind his truck, lol!
