Cat Scratch Grrrr

So my nephew accidently let my cat out this morning, no big deal since she is spayed but I am a overbearing protective mother so I had to get her inside :D anyway, I bring her back inside and go to close the garage door after my BIL pulled away and Maggie (cat) decided to make one last attempt to escape and tried to wiggle free... instead she got me REALLY good with her back claws. I close the door, curse her name and go to the bath room to clean my wound. I am slightly allergic to cats so when they scratch I have to wash right away or suffer hives and swelling.

I go and clean it up, spray on some anti-biotic spray and go about my buisness. 10mins later I look down and I look like I tried to slit my wrist... :eek: Back to the bathroom, wash my hands and wrist. spray more stuff on and wait... still bleeding. it's been 20mins since she scratched me and I had to put an ace bandage over the millions of bandaids just to give pressure to stop the bleeding. I have never bleed this much through a simple little cat scratch.

If it doesn't stop soon you might want to get it checked out just to make sure she didn't nick one of the big veins. Hope the bleeding stops soon.

Ditto to what Cat said- cat scratches are nothing to mess with, especially if you're allergic, lol!

it stopped shortly after I put a pressure bandage on... no swelling or hives so I am in the clear! *dances*

It wasn't deep enough to hit a vein.. just deep enough to cause some nasty bleeding.

Any time you have a nasty wound that won't stop bleeding take a dry tea bag and place it on the wound, if it get soaked thru then put another one on :) something in the clots. It doesn't matter if its human or animal it works! My Dr told me - that's another long story ;)
