Besides the nice weather we had I had a great ride. I first introduced my gelding to ground driving, but I had a lunge line and a long lead rope...so It was awkward. He did pretty dang well though. Neither of us had done it before so I think he did great. I asked my parents to get me a couple lunge lines and a surgincle (spell?) for my birthday. I hope they get this for me so I can really start working him on this. I hope to drive him someday! I then hopped up bareback. Well, first, let me back up, lol. My friend had come poles set up. I set two of them up to probably about a foot off the ground. I had no intentions to jump, my friend said he can't do that because of this supposed crooked leg he has? But I wanted him to go over them and use them as an obstacle to ground drive him over...which he did. But what got me was when I put him in the round pen and went up to see if my friend was home he just walked over the one that was slanted. A girl who may lease him has been working him over these I think. Before he was petrified of them. Even on the flat ground. So this was amazing. After I ground drove him a little, I jumped up bareback. He went around for few strides only on my leg pressure. I let the reins drop. We then went over the poles like this. I also tried trotting in a straight line bareback. I think it's the first time I have done that! And the cutest thing of the whole day was when I went into the barn a couple times, when me and my fiance came back out he whinnied at us. It was adorable. He also basically drug me into the barn this time out of the pasture which is a change from me normally dragging him into the barn to work!!! OH! and when I trotted him across the round pen the last time I squeezed a little and clucked once and he picked right up!!! Sorry this was sooo long, but I am super excited that it went well!!! If I can figure out how to put up the video I will!!!

OK, I have the link and I'm just going to post that. I have never done videos before, but I want to try to make one. Ignore me talking too! My hands were up too so that people could see I was going no handed:D And I know he kinda knocks the poles a little bit, but just a month or so ago he would not have even went over these poles laying on the ground, so this was huge for him:D:D:D

Man you have a VERY pretty boy there! I just love how loud he is, I always wanted a pretty paint like yours :) He looks great over the poles, really lifts those legs and is consious about where he puts his feet. Biggs used to just bull-doze ground poles until he decided it hurt, lol.

If I know I am really going to work him I will put SMB like boots on all four legs and bells on the front...If he hits the poles like he did here repeatly (spell?) will it hurt him?
