I have been such a turd lately- I havent went to the gym in 2 weeks. :mad:I have been shoveling crap down my throat like its going out of style. I have been sitting on my butt, only leaving the house a few times to either work on Inkas legs, or trim.
I think I may be a little post partum. :(I dont really know what to do. I over think everyting, over react, cry at the littlest sad commercial on tv, blow up at John and Jack, and just feel like sleeping all the time, or cant sleep at all.
Today I actually got a wild hair and cleaned my kitchen and living room. London is taking a nap, and I am waiting not so patiently for my saddle to get here- that may cheer me up!
I dont want to go to the dr, since I have no insurance (go figure) so Im thinking of any homeopathic remedies for depression. I know st johns wort is supposed to help, as well as 7-keto for seratonin levels. I just wish I could shake this cloud over me...
Ok, vent over.

Sorry you are feeling this way. I had it with both of my kids and actually went on meds for a little while and weaned myself off within a few months. I don't know any homeopathic remedies though. I hope you find something that works for you. Remember we are here for you!

Well geee - that sounds like me! And I haven't had a baby!
My personal opinion about it, from a distance, because I haven't been through it myself, is that much of this is stress related to a major change. Not all of it, your hormones are bound to be all over the place right now too... but some of it is, I bet. And that I do understand. Sometimes it just takes an adjustment period to let this change soak in and let it feel more normal.
I do wish you the best in getting through it.

I hope I start adjusting soon- Im so tired. I need to feel halfway myself again- Im not a sad person- Im pretty darn chipper!
If my stupid saddle would get here sometime in the next year, I would LOVE to go ride- that is ALWAYS a picker upper!

I have read about pulsatilla and cyclamen for depression but there are many and it's very individual. If you go to ABCHomeopathy.com there is a "remedy finder" with a ton of questions and there is also a "forum/blog" type area where you can read about other people experiences - I've even seen a couple of nauturopaths on there helping people with which treatment to try.
I haven't tried it personally but Beth (hunterseat) swears by SamE.

Hey Palo, I went through it, probably should have gone to the Doc. about it, but did not. I made it through and so will you. The biggest things to help (for me) is talk to you hubby, about everything you are feeling. EVERYTHING. Don't leave anything out. Try to get intamate with him even if you are not in the mood, just being close like that will start to make you feel better. Take a day for yourself too. Even half a day, or an hour even just for yourself. Take a hot bubble bath, read a book, go ride. Anything to help pamper yourself and to feel normal again.
Hugs. You will be ok and you will get through it just fine.

When was your baby born?
Is this your first baby?
I'm worried about that myself ... especially since I will be home alone with the baby (John is working in Mexico) til April/May.
My "hope" is to primp myself ... get a new nice hair dye job with highlights, I bought some Philosophy skin care and makeup and plan on going to get a massage one month later! I normally NEVER spend this kind of money on myself but I think I/we deserve that kind of spa treatment stuff after carrying a baby for 9-10 months!
Also it will be all the holidays which always have made me want a baby (especially Christmas) so I'm hoping I'll just be as happy as can be! :)

Another helpful thought...but you better not leave US, is to go find a forum for this type of thing. Maybe one specifically for post-partum, or maybe a baby forum has a section for the emotional side of having a baby. I don't know just a thought, chatting with people who are going through the same thing as you is so helpful (as we all know :)) and alot of people will probably give great advice/support and tips as far as homeopathic remedies that they've tried. As you know though, we are all here for you when you want to vent and rant and cry and complain and whatever else :)

This is my second baby, and she was born on July 1st. Dont worry too much, Rudy- even if you do get a bit blue (I have no hard feelings towards London at ALL- in fact she is the only lil thing Im really passionate about right now!) we have each other LOL!
Oh, and there is no WAY Im leaving this forum- you couldnt pay me!

First off big hugs. I went through MAJOR PPD with my first. I was as bad off as one could get with it. I won't go into detail because it's ugly and I don't want to make you or anyone worry, trust me most do not get as bad as I did, and I do have underlying problems that contributed. I was on meds, lots of them.
Homeopathic remedies do work for some people and not so much for others. My only issue with them is that they are not regulated, therefore you may not get the same quality in each pill or bottle. Keep check of your symptoms, keep a daily journal of how you are feeling and if it doesn't seem to be getting better, do go to a clinic or doctor for help. Not having insurance is a major PITA I know, but most doctors do keep samples of meds and will generally help out with those knowing you don't have insurance.

I'm sorry you are feeling poorly. I can't be of much help either but, on the lighter and brighter side at least you are not "Horseless." :D

by writing here what you have shared is a good step.....just keep writing and talking....
by the way....strong work aholic women who end up with that work stress thing where they can't move.....drs found that they were very smart and tried to do everything right for their bodies....but the cure was ................salt
they had been so good about cutting out bad stuff that they cut out all salt...so now they can eat fries with salt...and feel good......well something like that..

LOL RR- fries with salt! LOL
I have discovered what is going to bring me out of this funk- no meds, nothing all that hard.
EXERCISE!
I just got home from the gym and I did an HOUR on the elliptical, and I tell you, those happy endorphins people say you get from exercise? TRUE. I felt almost HIGH. Euphoric. And its been an hour, and I still feel HAPPY!!
SO, my game plan is to go to the gym every morning that I dont have to trim. (On days I trim I get SO wiped out by the end of work) Im going to start doing my yoga video at night again, and RIDE MY HORSE when I can.

Pushups.....yes, good, Army stlye pushups. Everytime you get "depressed", hit the floor and start doing pushups. Try it....you might be surprised.

Palomino, I'm sorry to hear that you feel like you do. I hope things start to look up soon for you. I can't really offer any suggestions because I have never went through this because I have no kids. Looks to me that you got plenty of suggestions to try.
On that same note: I am a July 1st baby too...
Palomino I really hope that things start to look up for you!! Best of luck!
