Some of you might remember the health concerns I was having with my dog, Shay, last fall. He got into the trash and ate half a pound of old salami :nono: which caused his liver enzymes to skyrocket! He was in the puppy hospital for 10 days and on the 10th day the vet called and said he's showing no signs of improvement and it would be best to put him down.
The next morning my parents went over to the vet's with the intention of having Shay put down, but when they got there he had made significant improvements, was keeping food down, and kept jumping at the door to get out of that office and go back home! Which is exactly what we did, bring him home! However, he was not out of the woods and his enzyme levels were still extremely high and his eyes were all yellow. Poor boy! :(
Luckily, I found a liver cleansing diet online (http://www.canine-epilepsy-guardian-angels.com/liver_diet.htm) and along with vitamin E, milk thistle, and sam-e mood supplement, he's finally made a full recovery! I would have never dreamed he'd still be here and be as happy and healthy as he is today. :) So I've decided to share some pictures from the other day.
Most of all, Pablo (on the left) is excited to have his buddy back!

Shay is once again enjoying the good life.

And a quick pic of Pabbie sunbathing. :p

Thank you to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers and sorry I didn't give an update sooner!
