Everybody meet Kita, my 2 1/2 year old chow/shepherd cross. Not totally sure on the breed, but that's our vet's best guess. She has a spotted tongue :)

I'd love to get a couple more working dogs. I want either another heeler, a boarder collie or aussie or any combination of those. :) My dad hates dogs though so I have to wait till I move out, but I'd love a few more pooches to have around.

Haha, I know that was the point. I read in the paper yesterday about these idiot cops who shot a dog that bit someone in the hand he was "rushed to the hospital" even though it ended up he didn't need any medical attention. The last sentence in the article was "the dog was believed to be part pit bull." Like they had no proof, didn't know if it really was part pit, but they thought they'd throw that in there anyway because everybody hates pits. :doh: Pisses me off. There's nothing wrong with pit bulls, some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met were pits. There's just something wrong with people. Gahhh. Okay I'm done ranting.

I dont see the Chow in your dog, although very pretty.
Not all spotted tongues belong to Chows.
Ive seen purebreds of other breeds with black on their tongues.

He said it was also because of her coat. She has a very thick chow-like coat, but it's so dirty in these pictures (she was digging in the garden all day). I'd like to hear your guys' guesses though on her breed.

There's nothing wrong with pit bulls, some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met were pits.

Ugh, I know, I adore pitbulls. Just yesterday I told my mom my first dog of my own would be a pit. She tried to make me promise that if I ever had children I wouldn't get a pitbull and I'd get rid of any I had. I told her no way on God's green earth would I ever promise that and I'd rather sell everything I owned than give up any animal I had made a commitment to. I don't take animal ownership lightly. She thinks pitbulls like to kill children for fun.... :doh:

Two of my closest friends have pitbulls and they have kids. Pitbulls are the best babysitters if socialized properly. :)
