My mama duck finally hatched the eggs she's been sitting on for what seems like forever. They hatched about 2 weeks ago. She doesn't really have a name, we just call her Mama Duck. she hatched 6 ducklings and one chick. Unfortunately, we lost two. :(

But aren't they cute? I don't know if anyone remembers my thread on my evil duck who was killing my other ducks, but he is the daddy. We gave him and my other duck, Duck Duck to my mom's friend and they're very happy there. We'll probably end up giving most of these guys to her, too as we really don't have a good set-up for lots of ducks.

These were taken about two hours before one of the ducklings died so there are 5 in the pics but we really only have 4. Here's Mama Duck taking a bath with the kids hanging out.
The chick is a Bard Rock/Araucana cross. We named him(or her) Chuck. The yellow duck's name is Ping and I'm still trying to think up names for the others.

Káduck coming over to see the new ducklings. She is our only other duck. The babies started chasing her around and actually snuggled up with her when she lied down. She's only a couple months old but is turning out to be really beautiful

This is one of our three geese. He's a male, doesn't have a name, I just call him Middle Goose because he's the middle sized goose. He's the least mean of them all. :p

This is Chuck's dad, WoostAHH!! an Araucana rooster. He's a very nice rooster. He's going to be 1 year next month so this is the year to tell if he's going to turn into a butthead or not.

Isn't Ping the name of a duck from a children's book? I don't remember what he does... but I think I've read it.

What kind of duck is Káduck? She's really cute (and so is Chuck).

I'm not sure what kind of duck Káduck is, but I suspect she's a mallard. Yes, Ping is from the children's book. It's about a duck who has to bring food back to a boat and one day misses the boat because he doesn't want to get smacked on the butt for being last, so he ran around having a little adventure. :) My mom used to read me that book when I was little, and when we were playing outside she'd call "La-la-la-la-lei!" and we'd know to come back. :D They look the same, don't they? :D
