Some of you may have been following this story on another forum. My grand-daughter, Jazmin, has a good friend, Colby, who is 6 yrs old and was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma on 7-1-08. He has been having treatments at St Jude's in Memphis, TN since then. He and his mom, Leslie spent over 3 months straight at St Jude's. His treatments will last for about 2 1/2 yrs. He has just finished with the 1st phase, so they have got to come home for a little while. His next phase will start next Sunday and will last for 8 weeks, so their time at home will be short, but still a much needed break. The 3rd phase will consist of one treatment a week for 100 weeks.

Yesterday, I brought Jazmin to my house and Colby came to visit with us in the afternoon. Jazmin has missed Colby and asks about him all of the time. They were so glad to see each other and had a great afternoon playing together. We saddled up 2 horses and let the kids ride. They had such a good time.

Considering how much Colby has been through during the past 3 1/2 months, he looked surprising good. He is a little on the pale side, but other than that, you can't really tell just how sick he has been. So far, he hasn't lost any of his hair, which they were really expecting him to do.

I am not sure what the big thrill about playing on the hay bales is, but they had a great time running and jumping on the round bales:

My husband told them he would pay them for scooping poop. You wouldn't believe how hard they worked and how much fun they had doing that dirty job.

Colby never complained, but we could tell that he was getting pretty tired by the time the afternoon was over. He has spent a lot of time in bed, so his little muscles are not very strong right now. His last CT scan looked very good, but he still has a long way to go until his treatments are over. Please keep Colby in your prayers. If any of you would like to send him a card or small gift, for the next 8 weeks they can be sent to:

Colby Sexton
St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital
262 Danny Thomas Place
Memphis, TN 38105

Of course, he loves anything horse related. He also loves race cars.

Wow--what sweet looking kids! Fantastic pics! I'm going to send him a card, and I'm sure that I've got something horsey around the house.

The good folks at St. Judes truly are doing the Lord's work. They deserve all the support we can give. Been a long time since I've seen cuter kids.
