(http://realnaturalhorsemanship.net/2009/06/05/phew-what-a-busy-day.aspx)so the day was supposed to be a short quick one...but that was NOT the case...

First... a new friend from our barn and I went on a trail ride (On REAL trails lol) sorry these are off my phone...didn't bring the camera... Dena didn't spook at ANYTHING... it was the more seasoned horse who was the weanie lol

Then I worked Dolly.. who was full of the beans today! Someone must have put tabasco sauce in her breakfast holy moly! I worked her with the lasso dragging etc... she about had a heart attack. She eventually calmed down. But she's gotta get over that fear of things touching her.

I had to back her up more than once to get her attention today...

Then I worked with a boarders gelding Titan. He didn't know how to lunge... or tie. We fixed both issues in one session. He is VERY smart... apparently he comes at you on the line... and snakes while tied.. I pretty much just did what I do with everyone else.. I listen to what the owner says.. then I do what I think I need to. He picked up on the idea of lunging pretty quick. As for tying.. I put a rope halter on him, tied him.. let him pull and throw a fit.. and lose... then he was fine. Problem solved.

Ok....now I am paying attention.

Twister got worked today. And I had Bobby lead us around the big scary arena. She tends to blow in open scenarios... she had one little crow hop, but overall.. she did really really well.... tomorrow, I plan to let 'er go and see what she does. She rides fine in the round pen. But she has to grow up sometime. So we introduced it quietly. I am very proud of her.. I forsee her W/T/C by the end of the upcoming week.

I'm exhausted now and waiting for the pool filter to get cleaned so I can go for a swim!

lol no kidding.. it was nice. I've been on a "routine" for fitness since I broke my back.. so I swim everyday if I can.. for at least an hour. The pool was green  but I swam anyway.

Tomorrow is a scary day.... Twister has to be a big girl and go off the leash... and that looney paint is at least getting sacked tomorrow.:cowboy:

Thanks! I think I need it lol

Still waiting for the video someone took to get to my email of Twisters little "blow up" lol

And that was all between 8am and we left at 2pm on the dot....I refuse to stay any later than that or I'll go nuts. That's another reason we moved.. I needed more "me" and family time.

But I STILL had two other horses to work I didn't even get to ...but I could have if I hadn't gone on that trail ride.. but Dena loved it :)

Wow! Sounds like you had a busy day!

Glad you had fun on your trail ride- everyone needs to play hooky once in a while.

Glad that you got to enjoy a little ride outside of the arena. Sometimes its good to think outside the arena;)

I'm sure the horses that you did not get to today will be first on your list tomorrow.

I know what you mean by the long day. The kids and I went out to the horses at noon and didn't get done till 6pm. LOL We had some tired ponies!

Busy, busy, busy. I am glad you are keeping up with your back--swimming is one of the best exercises that does not put stress on the body. You and Dena needed and deserved the trail ride. Good luck with Twister tomorrow.
