I'm trying to get all fancy with my profile this morning and wanting to load a background image for it. Its the one that is on my website so I thought maybe I could just put that URL from there in but no luck. What to do?

Ok I made a great discovery..... if you actually read ALLLLLL the instructions before you try and edit it works wonders!:p

I am sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! Sorry! I was sleeping in, heh. Anyways, I see you figured out. For anyone else having a similar issue the background image you want to use, you have to upload it to your album on the forum, the URL cannot be from another website.

Cloe... if someone loads a profile background to a 'private' album does it just not show up to others? If they set it to the 'friends and contacts' setting, will the custom background show up for just their friends and be blank for everyone else I would assume?

WBay, whenever I tried to use a background image that was in a private album, this message comes up:



Main (http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/profile.php?do=docustomize#usercss_main) has invalid properties: Background Image (http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/profile.php?do=docustomize#main_background_image)


So, I am guessing you aren't able to use a background image if it's in a private album? Not completely sure.

Hmmmm when I was searching around in the dark in there I think I remember a choice to set your image as profile background only or something like that? Don't hold me to it though, I was in the dark!!!!:p

Whenever you add a new album to your profile or are editing one, you can choose three Album Types: Public, Private (Only visible to contacts and moderators), and Profile (Pictures used to modify your profile style). Are you talking about the Profile Album Type? Or am I way off? Lol. =P

Your super smart! Profile (Pictures used to modify your profile style) was what I was thinking of! I didn't use that one as I had already loaded my pic elsewhere but are the pics in the Profile album viewed by the public? Just curious.

Nope, if pictures are in a "Profile Album," they're private, but you are still able to use the images as your background. (:

I was working on my profile the other day, it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, I kinda just gave up on it. I need to look at other peoples profiles to kind of get an idea of how I'd like to change mine.

cyb I had to use my 'preview' button to check out the look before I saved it. I was lost before I starting doing that.

I think I've got my profile figured out, now I have to work on getting more friends, I only have 3 :(
