Equine Woman - I hope you are okay for me posting this...but as your BWF Family, we are sorry for Sweet Baby Melissa's passing.

I was going to send baby goat "Melissa" a gift and asked for EW's address. She send me a message saying she passed last night and that her mommy LeLe was calling for her. So sad.....

We are all sending you lots of support to help you and you son especially get thru this.

Thank you everyone. I really appreciate the kind words and support!! Losing babies is always hard. This is the 3rd baby goat our of 4 we've lost. I don't think I can take anymore. Our buck is for sale now and will be kept apart from the girls until he is gone. I'm going to miss him but not the heart ache. We'll focus our attention on those we have left and give them lots of love. And I may buy a wether from the auction every year (meat auction) to 'save' him. That would be much easier than waiting on babies just to lose them. . .

I was thinking of getting my dog spayed after the puppies we lost this year. It's so hard when babies don't make it. It's easier not to have them at all.

When we bought him we took him to the vet to be neutered and they said, since he is older, the likelyhood of him recovering from surgery was slim. They said they'd do it, but he'd likely bleed to death. . . So we chose to let him stay a Buck. . .
