Lol I made a mistake today! I didn't lock up Bullet and went to practice with Crystal in the pasture. We were jogging and she was doing wonderful! She doesn't trip any more!
I was just asking her to speed up when Bullet came running from around the corner wanting to play. So I guess Crystal figured out I want her to go faster so she did! Man she has some speed! She loves to buck and kick when she is playing so I figured I shouldn't let her run much. I let her go only several strides, than she dropped her head. Didn't buck or kick, but I think she was planning to kick out her back legs (she always does that when she is playing) so I asked her to change to trot. And she did! To be honest I was thinking I'm going to have to sit this one out, just because I know what she does when she plays. She gets quite carried away. I was very pleasantly surprised that she listened and immediately changed to trot. Than I asked her to stop and she had no problem stopping. Even though Bullet was still running; by this time she turned and went different direction. Crystal didn't even pay attention to Bullet any more and we walked away without any problems!
I was so proud of her.
What surprised me - I didn't feel scared or worried even though I have never sat on a horse going this fast (she is much faster than Trigger), I know I should have been scared, but all I was thinking of was how cool it is when she goes fast. Only later when I started thinking about it I realized that I could have ended on the ground.
Next time I'll make sure the other horses are locked up!
However her gallop is so much nicer than Trigger's! It's much smoother and very easy to sit!
