Well, I was really looking forward to going to fair this year to compete in games with Lyric and show Prodigy, but it looks like that's not going to happen. (Surprise surprise!!!!)

Fair starts in July and I don't have a saddle that fits him or a good saddle pad and no money to buy either one, so this means no saddle for Lyric (Nothing we have ATM fits him so I have to ride him bareback) and as far as I know you can't compete bareback or else I would. So I guess Lyric and me are just going to be trail buddies for a while.

....So I think I am going to start putting in applications to get a job (since the only reason I was holding off is so I could spend my last Summer having fun with my boy at the two fairs and be able to go on different group trail rides/The BWF meeting/Vacation which is also not happening).. Which is really hard, because that means I will literally not have enough time for TWO horses that need to be worked with consistently.. Things like this really stress me out. :(

I don't mean to sound like a baby, I just always look forward to these things and they never work out. Ever. Anndd I just need to rant I guess, a lot has been on my mind lately and no one IRL wants to listen.

Yeah, the meet up is happening for sure, I am going to put up a reminder for it in a few days.

Borrow, no. If I could, I would, however I don't know of anyone who I could get one off of. There's "horse people" we know, but none who we are really close to.

I wish you were closer I have my pro qualifier saddle sitting at the barn collecting dust since I'm having no luck selling it (part of me hopes I will be able to use it again some day :(). I would totally let you borrow it.

So sorry FSA! Maybe you will be lucky to find a job that will give you off for the next fair. By then, you will have the money to purchase a saddle because you have been working. Good luck.

You can't show Razzberry? Did she used to be a barrel racer?? You need experience as much as Lyric does. You should take her.

That stinks!

Maybe something will come up, yet.

Awwww, tough luck FSA :( we know HOW MUCH you wanted to barrel race and find THE right horse for it...bleeding sod's law isn't it?
If you get a job, chances are it won't take up LOADS of your time, right? Which two horses is it your priority to exercise - Razz n Lyric?
I hope something comes up for you job-wise, and that you make enough money, and quickly, for a saddle. And hopefully it's a job you'll enjoy rather than something that gets you down more :/
Luckkk!!

Thank you so much for the thoughts, Liva and Mountain Creek.

The two horses that are my main priority are Lyric and Prodigy. Tyke is going into semi-retirement within a few months as he is really starting to slow down and we feel/know he deserves it. I feel that when I get a job(and eventually college) I am not going to have enough time for both of them but I'm going to try my hardest to work it out.

Razzberry is actually for sale right now, but if she isn't sold by the time the fairs start I am going to see if it's possible to compete both her and Lyric(if I have a saddle that fits her.) If not maybe they'll let me compete bareback on her but I doubt it..

But anyway.. I have the most wonderful Mom ever.. She is going to buy me a used Simco saddle.. I am so excited. Yes I am spoiled ..

I do still plan on getting a job.. Right after the fair in the beginning of August I am going to apply all over. I want to be able to help out with the horses this Winter.
