I need a name for my new baby colt!
I don't like long names and I need a name that is easy to pronounce.
I usually prefer human names, but I'm open to any suggestions. :)
Whoever comes up with a name I like will win a woodburning of their horse.
Have to warn you, I am very picky when it comes to names, that's why I have such hard time naming my animals.

(He had a name, but every time I hear it I think of an old truck - his name was Mator...not any more because I don't like it!)

What color is he? I know he was lucky to go home with you so maybe something like Blessed Charm or a combo of the two I don't know! I agree with Vicki--Pictures!LOL

I think he looks like a 'Simon', or maybe a 'Francis' (the patron saint of animals).

Ya, so I just went and read your thread...duh hu..lol
Not sure how I missed it.

Not sure if you think like I do, but I picked Tex for my pup, cause he came from Texas.
He needed a name that I would always remember where I helped rescue him from.
Is there a cute rescue name that you like?

Not sure why, but if you like people names, Mike came to mind. He looks like a Mike to me...LOL

*Journey (I've always wanted to call a horse that, don't ask me why:p)
*Max (he just sort of looks like a Max, and it's definately easy to pronouce.;))
*Harley (it's kind of cute :))
*Ace (I've always liked that name for a horse :))

Yeah, I'll definately keep thinking.:innocent:

I myself love Mator for hm. Lol

Just a few off the top of my head:

Macho - I know it's not people but he reminds me of a Macho
After all he did have to be a macho boy to pull thru all he has.

Chance - he got a second chance

My sister suggested these three after she looked up the meanings.
Apollo - strength

Oz - strength

Wyatt - brave or hardy

If I think of more I'll hollar. LOL I tend to have to think on names for a while. I always name mine odd names by siblings and parents can't pronounce. LOL

I am AWFUL at names, if Dommie didn't have a name when I got him I would have called him Jake, he looked like a Jake. I also like Cherokee for a gelding and if I had a little girl I could name I wanted to call her Kachina. There was a little girl born at the stable and I call her Kachina even though nobody else does! I had to name Roger, Indy and Tyler then changed Deanna's name from Diana.

Delta had a registered name but not a barn name, she came from Wisconsin before New Holland so my husband thought something with Del in it and I always liked Delta Burke so we named her Delta and my friend said Dawn went with that like the song and I thought PERFECT, name the horse after a crazy lady since we were crazy to take on another horse. The funny thing was that when my man called her former owners to find out about her [We don't know about a month of her life from when they sold her to when she ended up in New Holland where she was thin and scared, she had a good home before she was a trail horse and worked cows] other life they used to call her Del! That's probably why she responded to the name, we had no idea. I forget her registered name, it's long. Good luck on the name for your new baby, he sure is precious and a lucky boy to have you for a mommy!

Ali - The highest, greatest, excellent, noble
Anis - Close friend
Aza - Comfort
Basil - Brave
Dani - Near, close
Fath - Victory
Haris - Guardian, protector
Jafar - Rivulet, little creek
Jamal - Beauty
Kadin - Friend, companion, confidant
Naji - Safe, survivor
Raja - Hope
Zafir - Victorious

These are the easiest arabic names I could find that had a neat meaning. Most arabic names are hard to pronounce, but I searched for specific "easier" names!

Thank you everyone!
I think I like Harley the best. :) I think that suits him.
There were some others I liked but my husband didn't. And than he liked some I didn't. This one was actually the only one we both like.

While I'm at it a little update on Harley - I took him out of the stall for a short walk! He learns faster than my other horses do! I cannot believe how smart he is!
And since the flies were bothering him a lot I went to buy a spray and managed to spray him! He was pretty scared at first, but 15 minutes later he was standing still for me. And we had a short tying lesson! I even left the stall and let him stand tied for few minutes. It didn't take him long to figure out that it's more comfortable not to pull. For a colt that was never been worked with I think he is doing amazingly well!
If it doesn’t rain tomorrow I'll try to get a video of him.
