View Full Version : I got a new horse!!! (and I need your opinion!)

Ok, so...

I got a new horse (my horse Ty needed a friend) when we moved to WI. :p His name is Sinatraa a.k.a Buddy and he's a 14yr old Arabian. He's such a teddy bear and sweetheart! SO, here's the deal...My mom doesn't like his name(s). He was my friends horse and I known this horse for 2yrs as Sinatraa, then we called him Buddy. That was his name! And I think it fits him and that's what I know him by. BUT, my mom has other plans...:mad:

Now here's where you guys come in!!! I need some suggestions for a name for Buddy! If you could, it would be awesome if it was as close to or similar to Sinatraa or Buddy because he (believe it or not) knows those names, usually...;) So name away!

So she doesn't like Buddy or Sinatraa? Why not? :D

I wonder if they'll grow on her. In my experience, trying to rename horses... the new name never sticks!

It's too bad you can't keep his names that he already knows. I really like the name Sinatraa, I think it suits him.

I'm sure someone can come up with some good ones. I'll think on it and come back.

I like both those names. I'd just call him Bud if I were you.

WB - I don't know why she doesn't like his name!!! :mad: I love his name the way it is! Plus it's kinda hard to change it when I've been calling him that for the past 3 years now...

peace_baby - I love that name too! I don't know what we'll change it to.

zoel - I like Bud too! I don't know what my mom's problem is...

If I were you I'd call him by his name that he is used to. It's your horse right? I can bet you she'll get used to it eventually. Until than let your mom call him whatever she wants. I don't think the horse will care.

yea it's my horse!! i think im just gonna call him his name because he knows it! good advice Petra! my mom can call him whatever, i don't care!

im still open to any name ideas!

Oh and i will definately try to get some new pics of Sinatraa and Ty too!

Like WB I think new names usually don't stick.

Does your mom have a thing about "old blue eyes?" Maybe she doesn't want a horse with Frank's name. LOL

My horse, my name...so there mom...LOL

I renamed Myst, her name was Patches, that so didnt work for me.
If I call her that now, she dosnt respond.
Call her Myst, Momma or Mare, and shes all in.
I think she likes the M words...lol
