So I'm in 11th grade...I haven't had drama since middle school, I guess that's what happens when all your friends from the barn are in 7th grade. First off, there's this girl at my barn (4 years younger than me) and we're pretty good friends. Thing is, she's really immature and she lies alot and talks about her ex-friend at the barn. It really started getting on my nerves so I confronted her about it today and she got all angry and told me to choose between her and her other friend (btw, I'm not even that great of friends with her ex-friend, we're aquaintences). Then she started dragging her ex-friend into this and she didn't have anything to do with it, I just wanted her to stop talking about her! http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/horse_forum/graemlins/flamingmad.gif So now I don't really know what to do. I mean, I see these people at the barn almost everyday and she's friends with everyone at the barn and I know she'll try to turn them all against me. Plus I'm sure she's going to say something to her ex-friend at school tomorrow when I told her not to, that she didn't have anything to do with it. http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/horse-forums/images/smilies/no.gif I don't really know what to do...what should I do when I see them? I mean our families are pretty close, her parents are friends with my parents and stuff. PS, if none of this makes sense ask me and I'll try to re-write it. http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/horse-forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

(I copied and pasted this from what I wrote on HGS, so the smilies are different, lol)

Realize that teenage girls are impossible (present company on the forum excepted) and be cordial but not close to these types. Really, they are just a drain. Find simple, happy, mature friends or none at all. Seriously. I hung on to old girlfriends from high school way too long and some of them never change!

Thanks WB! I guess it will be awkward for a while, especially since our families are close, but I def learned my lesson in Middle School and I'm not going back to demanding, lying friends!

Couldn't really say it any better than WB. Smile, be friendly enough, but don't get pulled in.:)

I'm totally w/ WB. Stick to your guns, keep your story. Don't participate more than you have to, but if confronted be honest. You just wanted her to quit running her mouth and don't want any more to do with it. Simple, happy, or none at all- bravo!

Ditto. In my experience, teen age girls really are impossible. Obviously I am one, and I don't really know if others consider me impossible or not, but over all... yeah, teen age girls can be really catty, have their own little cliques, and basically can have some not so nice moments. I'm not saying that they're all like that, it just seems like they (should I be saying 'we'? Maybe I am one *glances around nervously* :innocent:) all go through that kind of faze at one time or another.
