Good Morning all. Hope everyone has a great ugh....MONDAY! Oh well, we can't have Tuesday unless we have Monday. Diane is taking care of our two equine children this morning. I'm not having to travel again this week so maybe I can get some things done around the barn and do some riding in the afternoons this week. Diane and I will finally be able to spend time TOGETHER at the farm.

The weather man/lady is promising rain this week. Maybe up to two inches. We are drying up on the vine around here.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE:)

Good Morning Yeah it's a Monday and cold! I'm just not ready for cold yet and it's suposed to be 37 tomorow morning
Not a lot planned today just get thru work and if I feel up to it head out to try and get s short ride in tonight. I'll be working on lights this weekend to see what we can do to get it just a little bit brighter down in the ring.
Hope everyone has a great day. :)

Good Morning! I'm on my first day of in-home daycare. I'm just waiting for little Elijah to arrive at 7:30. Phew! I'm not usually awake right now. I'm just an 8am morning person-I guess... :D

Good morning all! Have a busy day planned--septic tank is being cleaned out, the farrier's coming and I have to take one of our feral cats to be neutered. We have more kittens than we know what to do with!!!! Ah, farm life!

Good morning! I've been up since 4 (well.. 3:50). We had an astronomy class meeting at 5:20 and it takes me an hour and a half to get there (only if you go the speed limit :p). Left the house at 4:00 with my coffee and now I'm at my grandmother's near the college. I tried to stop at a TRUCK STOP for breakfast (of the amazing southern-truck-stop variety) and they don't sell breakfast! I was astounded, I didn't know that there were truck stops that didn't sell breakfast. From where I sat, it appeared that a couple of truckers weren't aware of that either.

I spent a couple of hours out with the horses last night, which was great. Legacy was THRILLED, and I gave Dix a good brush-down and she's very happy to be spotless again (she had some dirt on her leg - oh no ;) ). I also hung out with Papa for over an hour. They're switching pastures today probably. I'll miss it, but Leggy's always an angel for Papa (brat :p), so I'm not concerned.

I hope everyone has an excellent day! The Yellow Wonder and I are probably going to be running errands for most of it. :)

Morning everybody! xD

Brrr, it's cold this morning!:p We had frost on the ground the last two days and it's freezing down here in our basement (which has no heat enless we fire up the woodburner, and it's not going right now). It was even colder last night when I was down here (the computer is in the basement), chatting with Caitlin (cloedoll) on AIM. I was wearing a hoodie, warm jammie pants, and puppy slippers and was still freezing!:p lol
Fall is definately here. I LOVE it!:D

Lots to do today- I have to work out, reclean my room, ride Beauty, do some schoolwork, get the house chores done (dishes, luandry, etc) and I'm supposed to mow the backyard and dig the last row of potatoes out of the garden, but it's supposed to rain. I also wanted to drag the arena and get the sand all smoothed out again, but if it rains that's not happening.

Guess I better get busy! Hope everyone has a good day.:)

Good Morning.

Sorry Sunday's Man that I didn't get you some breakfast cooked before you went to the Doctor. Oh well, can you bring me back something? lol

Our horses were doing great this morning...They were both waiting patiently to be let out into the big pasture.

I need to do house cleaning today and see if Buck really has some bots on his legs!!!(I just posted a thread about it)

Hope to get to ride this afternoon.

ALOK...How are the trees looking up there in the hills?

Morning everyone!!! Today it's raining AGAIN. No plans here today except to go out and spend a bit of time with the horses. We are thinking of changing our indoor wood stove out for a pellet since my hubby is "fire starting" challenged and a pellet would be easier. Good thing my parents own a fireplace store so we can see what's what.

The weekend at my dad's still drained me and last night I couldn't sleep, so this morning I'm exhausted.

But on the upside.... This place is great!

Morning everyone! It's cold and windy here, and spitting rain off and on.

Gypsy's not too thrilled with it, and neither am I- I have to go to town this morning- and I'd really rather stay in where it's warm and dry!

Hope everyone's having a great day!

Happy Monday!

Sundays Man - I'm glad you'll be getting to spend time together finally! Mondays can be good, just gotta be positive! :D

JetLagside - 37°?! EW! Ha ha. It's been getting that cold at night here, but not during the day! You have fun with that! :p I hope you get your lights been in, that should be fun!

shewaysmyshadow - Elijah? I love that name! It's one of mah faves. I hope you have fun! (:

Toodlestoo - It's so nice to see your name pop up here and there again! I missed your posts and pictures! :) You have fun with the...delicious...yummy...septic tank. :D

Emily - Awe, I'm sorry! I was awake at 4:00AM, but not because I just got up. ;) Maybe the truck stop was playing a joke on you guys, maybe he secretly filmed it and is now uploading it to YouTube. Heh. I'm glad you got to spend time with your horses, I know that doesn't happen often, busy bee you are! I am sure they enjoyed seeing ya! :)

Lizzy - Ha, my mom still won't let turn on the heat, maybe she is trying to make me adapt to my natural habitat (which would be outside :p)? Heh. Have fun, at least you're workin', unlike lazy me! xD

Diane of Buck's Hollow - Bwahaha! Love it (the whole breakfast thing), pick me up something, too? ;) My parents are at work and I am never good with fending for myself, I just starve and complain when they get home. :D Just get a bot knife and you are good to go, Cloe and Keidas have them, too. As long as you get them off, it's all good! I'll check out your thread. (:

lovesfortune - Send the rain here, I'll love it foreva! :p

Gypsy Rose - Awe, give Gypsy a hug for me please! She's such a cutie! :p

I will probably be riding crazy man Keidas later today and doing schoolwork. Fun fun! I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday!

Good morning everyone. I don't know how anyone can follow cloedoll. Wow, that girl can cover some area. Good for you too cloedoll. That was by no means a bad comment.

It's fall so it's work as usual today. I might not have many or any full days off until Thanksgiving now. I have a horse at the trainer's that I will be visiting on Wednesday. My step son has a riding lesson with her that day too!

The cool air is here so enjoy everyone before it turns cold.

Ha ha, I rarely post on the morning thread and I always want people to know I'm actually reading their posts, so I like to respond individually. (: I hope your step son has a good riding lesson, and I agree, this weather is perfect, soon it's gonna get freezing! :(

ALOK...How are the trees looking up there in the hills?

They're not really changing yet. A few leaves here and there though. I think by Gold Rush (conveniently the weekend of my birthday :D) they should be really good looking though. Are you planning a drive up through 'them thar hills'? :)

Caitlin - We partied like horsey rockstars! Legacy was being seriously obcessive about me (we got that straightened out though)... but sweet at the same time, so I crawled up on his back and scratched him while he grazed a little. I hopped down when Dix came over though 'cause I didn't want to be ON him in the middle of a horse fight (siblings  ).

So. I AM riding... just not 'riding' riding. :D

cloedoll
10-06-2008, 07:26 AM

Good morning all! Nothing out of the ordinary for me today, just work and then visit the pony for a ride after. We had a really nice ride yesterday, he was really loose and trying hard to do exactly as I asked, which is a great feeling. He always tries hard, but yesterday he was super good! It was probably his apology for running away from me for 30 mins when I went to bring him in. Bad pony! The cooler weather brings out the "best" in them, for sure!

Hope you all have a lovely Monday (or as lovely as a Monday can be!)

I have to clean stalls today. We didn't get to it over the weekend, too busy :o! It's been raining all weekend and I don't think they've left the barn much at all, so it can't wait any longer.

So I'll be here, and out there, and trying to be everywhere at once today. :D

Happy Horselover - You should get some new pictures of Levi, I haven't seen any new ones in a while. :p

As far as my posts, I just have the gift of being a chatterbox! :p

I just got done taking care of the horses, Cloe is brown from rolling  and Keidas is still acting hyper! Physco horse...that I love. ;)

Good morning all!!!!

It's raining here for the first time in over a month and it kept waking me up all night thundering so I'm a little grumpy with it. lol. My poor hubby had to run outside and 'save' our 'guard' dog Piper who has been on fox duty ever since our lamb was killed. She was in a goat pen with no shelter and it was pouring!!!!! Needless to say she was VERY happy to see Dad at 3 a.m. Let the goats out too. They get in with the horses in their barn and stay drier than the horses. In fact they were still there last time I checked. Not big fans of mud.

Hope everyone is doing good!! I'm off to work on photos. . as usual.

Wow, loads of posts, and I so am not awake.
Bob fed the horses and dogs before he left out this morning to let me sleep in.
Oh I so dont do sleeping in, takes for ever to wake up.
I worked outside with Bob yesterday, did the lighter things, except, and shhhh, I helped move the water tank, full, and then after we put up the hot wire, the tank wasnt centered, and instead of calling Bob, I moved it myself. I sure felt the muscles spasming last evening. I did though, wake up no worse than I was yesterday morning, so Im good with that.
I wanted to ride sooooooooo bad yesterday. Were hoping my back is good next time Bob comes in, cause were going trail riding.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!

MORNING ALL ***waving***
I'm looking hard for a fresh cup of coffee!
The Lady and I had a pretty good ride Sunday. There were several gunshots as we left (we stayed OUT of the woods!) and she didn't even flinch. The weather was purrrrfect, so we took advantage of it! Just a road ride, but we went to one of the neighboring little towns...
Then Ron & I (the kids call him 'Dude') ran out to the farm & fed the goats. The Billy there is so funny...I swear he talks. "Wup, wup, wup, WHAAAAAAAAT??"
We just got notice that an aunt passed away up in Wisconsin. Sounds like we may all be convoying up there! Momma really wants to go, but we are wondering how/if she'd hold up....(this would cover several days...)
I'm going there today instead of tomorrow. She called and *needs*...stuff for the trip.

Heh... well we still may need a tutorial for the 151 people who were already here, to help them switch over. :)

WYSIWYG = What You See Is What You Get. Pronounced "wissywig".

It means when you are formatting or editing posts, it will show you what it actually looks like, instead of just the codes. You can switch between the two views by toggling the little button in the upper right corner of the reply box that looks like this: http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/images/styles/beige/editor/switchmode.gif.

What cloe can write a tutorial for is how to change it so it defaults to being that way in your settings. (please? :))

WashingtonBoy
10-06-2008, 08:41 AM
WYSIWYG = What You See Is What You Get

Basically it just means that you are seeing the post as will display, rather than the code that makes it display that way.

So for example, in your editor window, you see

bold text

instead of

bold text

If you go to your User CP, scroll down to Settings & Options, click on Edit Options, then scroll down to Miscellaneous Options it lets you edit your settings for Message Editor Interface (you have three options: Basic Editor - a simple text box, Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls, and Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing).

This (http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh58/cloedoll/Other/examplestandard.jpg) is an example of what your message would look like as your typing in Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls.

This (http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh58/cloedoll/Other/wysiwygexample.jpg) is an example of what your message would look like as your typing in Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing (WYSIWYG mode).

See the awesome difference? :D

You can switch between the two views by toggling the little button in the upper right corner of the reply box that looks like this: http://www.baywindfarm.com/forum/images/styles/beige/editor/switchmode.gif, but you would have to click on that button every post to use that view (WYSIWYG). To make it easier on you, you can switch your default setting from Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls to Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing by going to your User CP, scroll down to Settings & Options, click on Edit Options, then scroll down to Miscellaneous Options, all that's left to do is click on the drop down menu and select "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" and click on "Save Changes."

Do you think I need screenshots, or is that good enough? I copied one sentence from you, WB, hope you don't mind. :p

I guess I wanted to drive them to school to!:D Thankfully the school is a mile and a half away! I would have been upset if I lost my lead!
Waiting for Mr.Vic to finish breakfast then we start day two of Boot Camp. THen I'll go for my walk, any tips on keepingyour shins from hurting?

the Forest Service movec the offical camp location to a hollow I think? A low hole or pocket in the mountain. I need to find pictures (instead of words) but it will take a while for me to do that. (because this camp is not in my photobucket account at this time. )

A Hollow is a "Vallely between two mountains or hill"...In our case, we named our new place Buck's Hollow...because 1) We bought it so I could bring Buck over and have him close to me all the time...and 2) because you actually have to drive down into it from the road. The pastures have small hills up toward the flat part at the road. It really isn't surrounded by mountains or hills...but it does remind us of a Hollow.

BTW...here in Georgia ...they say "Holler" lol (not me of course):D

And just think, this is only the forums first few days of life...imagine it in a month! Or by Christmas time!

It's going to be great, heck it already is. Thanks everyone for being actively involved. I'm sure the WB's are ecstatic!

Wow! Beautiful place. I thought a "holler" was a valley (I'm from the Shenandoah Valley,)
but was not sure.

Yes Bucks Holler- much purtier than Bucks Hollow. :D

O.K. EVERYBODY....JUST STOP....TAKE A DEEP BREATH..I go away for a couple of hours and look what happens!!! I'm never going to catch up with what's going on! Now everyone of you go sit in the corner until I can read all this fun stuff.:)LOL.

This is great. Now this is how a forum should be. Lots of activity and all kinds of "goings on". I love it.

I noticed that myself. I have to pull myself away from the computer and go feed-
carry on mates. :)

Here is another one...you can see that there is somewhat of a hill going up the pasture. Then there is a bigger one that goes all the way up to the road. (can't see that one in the pic)

Thanks Cait. We love it and are really enjoying it. Though, I didn't know you could find so much work to do on just 11 acres. It's fun work though. I even get to "wet a hook" in the lake occasionally. I mean, somebody's GOT to do it, right?:D LOL.

Yeah Georgia girl- I agree- phooey with o's. :p

I went to Ferrum College in the Blue Ridge mtns of Virginia and learned to speak Southern. Then when I got to Colorado they thought it was Texan?

Texans were bad in Colorado back then- So I began to talk with a politically correct accent once more. LOL> sigh...

When we lived in CO (when I was 5 until I was 7) people would seriously stop us in stores and have us talk to them because they thought our accents (particularly mine) were "adorable". I don't think I have one at all. And I don't - compared to most of my family(until you get me riled up... then I'm the biggest redneck you've ever heard). :D

I'm one of those Georgians who can tell what part of Georgia someone is from by their accent.

Ha! I moved from Georgia to Boston and I was afraid to open my mouth. They could not stand my southern accent. Then I moved to Maryland....They were much nicer there and then when I finally moved back to Georgia...They thought I was a Yankee!!!!lol

Now I am finding my Southern Drawwallllllll again!!! I love it!!!

And thank you for the nice comments on our place. I love it there. I fretted abit at firse...At the stables I had arenas and trails...I was afraid I would not get to ride until we got an arena built...BUT Carla came over made me ride up the hills in the Pasture and we found GREAT trails right outside the barn door! How awesome it that? Of course, hunting season starts in a few days...so we have to stay out of the woods. I saw a big deer run across the road just last night. I am telling them to RUN AND HIDE!!!!!!!

Good Morning!!! I can't believe I am actually posting in the morning. I was sick all day yesterday.. had a bad migraine and still have a small headache this morning, but I am slowly getting things done. Thank goodness I work from home!

I have to get the house cleaned and hopefully ride later today. Hope everyone have a good Monday.

Wow, loving the new forum! WB, it's awesome. Thanks to both of you for taking the time and $ to create a new home for us all! :D

Monday isn't feeling too harsh on me yet. I think it's because I feel like I had a good long weekend to rest up and todays' books are light. Had another great ride on the horsey yesterday, he's such a stud :D

Okay, now I'm off to roam the new forum!!

Good morning y'all!!!

It is so fun to log on and see all the people here chatting - it took me awhile just to read through this thread.

Just another Monday at work (yuk!) and another day of gray skies and sprinkles - yes, Fall has settled in unfortunately.

Have a great day everyone (don't have time to respond to all personally - but I SWEAR I read them all!):):D
