Tex has skin issues. He gets scabbies on him, and I know its just gonna be his thing.
They arent bad, just little ones that heal right up.
He will have to have Oatmeal baths and conditioners.
I am going to call my vet tomorrow to see how much Benadryl he can have.
I think he may have skin allergies.
Ruffus was the same way, so I know what to do, just not how much Benadryl to give him.
Anyone know med doses for dogs. He weighs 28lbs.

Poor Tex! That sounds awful!
Did you ever find out what ccaused Ruffus' allergies? Many times, it's food related, but not always.
I had a cat that had skin allergies- it was caused by her own system attacking her- can't remember what it's called, lol!

We never found out what caused Ruffus' allergies. I did end up putting him on Lamb n Rice food and it helped, but he still had hot spots at times. Benadryl would pull him out of it.
I may try the food change with Tex, see if that helps.

hope you figure it out. last year our puppy (who is now my dad's dog) was allergic to mosquitos. his whole face would swell up and the bites would get super poufy. benedryl worked great with him.
this year, they aren't having issues... but i've heard the first time they are exposed to something like that, they sometimes have a reaction.

Aww poor guy!! My cat has flea allergies and has scabbies all over her all summer. . even treating for fleas doesn't stop them because she still gets fleas from the outdoor kitties bringing them in. . .

Ya, see, no fleas, no ticks(other than that one), so between benadryl, oatmeal shampoos and hopefully a change in food will help.
He has NO clue that he has issues...LOL...go Tex go...LOL

Poor Baby, I think Deanna will have allergies too, she's always scratching and I don't see any bugs. I have heard alot of times it's food and there is such a debate about what they should have and shouldn't have and the vets say one thing and others say another, I am so confused. I really hope Tex will be OK. Hugs to him. He's getting to be a big boy, 28 lbs!!!!

Bummer that Deanna is scratching so much. Hope you find the answer.
Tex dosnt scratch much, the scabs appear and they are gone, so he has to get them some how. I figure when he is crated and Im not seeing it he is doing it.
There not many, but still, you know when you see them that there is an issue.
LOL..hes only 8 months old, not sure when the bugger is gonna stop.
He is not fat, only eats 3/4 cup twice a day, vet had me cut back from the 1 cup.
In person, you would not believe how big he really is. Pics dont do him justice in size.

It's hard to believe how much Tex has grown, all right! Not too long ago he was so tiny!
