Anyone have one or know anything about them?
I saw them on an HGTV show once and fell in love. Well now its about time to get a new W/D so I've been looking at them dreamily. :) They aren't cheap but there are plenty of benefits to them. One unit, no dryer vent, easier on your clothes, evaporation drying as opposed to heat.....
I just wondered if anyone here has ever encountered one or has one so you can tell me specific pros and/or cons to them.

If their half as cool as they look and sound I'll love it! lol LG makes them, I'm amazed they don't advertise them more. You can check them out at www.lgusa.com (http://www.lgusa.com)

Well what's cool about it is not only that it doesn't need a vent, but it doesn't apparently need 220 either. So anyone could have one in an apartment or someplace that's not set up for a dryer.
Nifty! I wonder does it take a lot longer? How does the dryer work with no vent?

Amazingly I was just reviewing my comparison sheet I printed out and discovered the 220 thing myself! Very cool! From what I saw on tv it drys not by a heating element but somehow by evaporation technique. Don't ask me how though. Thats why it doesn't need a vent. I do think it takes a bit longer for it to dry as well and you can't put like super large loads in it. Those would be draw backs for some but its just me and my husband so we could deal with it. Especially when we will still be saving on the electric bill! woo hoo! We put a timer on our water heater a couple of years ago for that purpose and was amazed at how much it saved us.

I've heard of them and thought it would be really nice to have since I hate laundry and it is so annoying to have to take the clothes from the washer to the dryer than have to fold them or iron them. I wish they'd come up with something to do that too! I am so undomestic!
I'd never survive in the Pioneer days, if I had to weave my own cloth then sew the clothes and then take them to the creek to beat them on rocks it wouldn't happen, we'd be wearing leaves!!!!!
That 2 in one machine would be a great space saver too. I don't know if that's what they have in England or not. I used to watch a decorating show from England on BBC America, I can not think of the name of it now, it was like Trading Spaces. Laurence was my favorite decorator. Anyway it seemed they had those things in their kitchens under the counters like dishwashers. It made for a neat look in a small space. If there are any English people on here maybe they would know???
