That is very cool! Here are some sites I found with gestation stages of a colts maturity in utero sadly they are pics of natural aborted foals........

Please do not click the links if you have a problem with seeing graphic pictures. The link pictures are of aborted foals at various stages of equine pregnancy

There was a documentary on Channel 4 last night about animals in the womb - I think the horse one is in a few weeks :) Pretty sure the picture is a press release.
(and before anyone asks, I missed it - CSI was on :D)

If anyone wants a copy email me and I'll see if I can email you one.

Interestin'. It reminds me of the animal from the movie "The Water Horse," heh.

Those sites are intersting, it is amazing how the foal looks like a horse even very early on. Human embryos don't like humans until much later, lol.

Reminds me of college. We had one of those in a jar in one of my anatomy classes. It made me sad!! My friend works at TVMDL (Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Lab) and they get babies like that a lot. Of course she said they had a full grown Friesian the other day and she said she couldn't help on that one because it was too emotional. The problem with being a horse person working in pathology. That's neat that that one is still alive, I hope.

horses are even attractive and graceful looking before they are born-more so than human babies anyways which i think look like jelly beans

It's not a shot of a dead horse!
It's a picture of it in it's mommy's tummy!

Oh it's in the tummy!!? Okay then it's adorable again, lol. The background didn't look like a womb so I was confused :)
