I've been browsing ads for horses and sometimes come across the term 'honest' in the description. Can you reply with examples of what that would mean to you? I can't imagine a horse being willfully 'dishonest'...:)

Always trying, never mean, gives 100% all the time. That's an honest horse. Solid and dependable.

I don't know, but some horses looove to fool you. They won't do as they are told, unless you show them that you mean business.

I'd agree with the above :)
When I think of an honest horse I think of a horse who's willing to put in "an honest days work" in the sense that they are looking to please by doing what's aksed of them without much back-talk. They aren't looking to pull any stunts or try to get you off. Even a green horse can have an honest mind...those type of the absolute best!

Arrow nailed it.
"a horse being willfully 'dishonest'... "
Some are. Some will nail yah in a bad spot-
Some will buck you off and kick you- some will just buck you off-
but an honest horse will not buck you off.

That's what I've always thought it meant. :)
