Man, I am the biggest procrastinator (sp?) ever. I have so much work to do and I just can't seem to get it done. I have a religion paper, a psychology paper, both due Friday. On top of that, I have a spanish test on Friday, on stuff that I'm not really understanding and I also have to start writting essays for my university applications. No matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to make myself do anything. A lot of it is that I get distracted easily, like with music, tv and especialy the forum (which if you guys weren't so darn interesting I wouldn't have a problem with lol). Is there anything you guys do to help you get your work done?

You need a rewards system! And to stop looking at everything at once. If I had that much to do (which I do) and saw it all at once, I would say "Nope, I won't ever get that done - ever." and I'd never start. If I leave all my books but... say... psychology in the car and said "Hey look! Psychology! I need to get this done tonight." then I could study psychology no problem. Say... 15 minutes - five minutes on the forum... or 30 minutes and 15 minutes on the forum. I work better in short bursts so I do 10 minutes-5 minutes. But it gets my work done! :cowboy:
Same with your application essays. Don't look at all the essays at once - just look at one, get it done - then spend 20 minutes on the forum or watch one TV show for all your hard work. :) A big part of it is just saying "No. I won't do that until I get this little bit done... then I can do that as a reward."
Food and the forum are my big rewards. Every other break I get a Reeces mini or the mini Snickers... or a brownie or whatever, and get to spend x amount of time on the forum. ;)
The inability to look at everything on your list at once is a symptom of ADD... you just have to teach yourself ways around it. :)

ALOK's system will work beautifully. I've used it through many a difficult work period.

ALOK gave you excellent advice. Another thing that can help if you have a lot to do is go somewhere where there are no distractions. I spent most of my study time in college at the library. There weren't many distractions and my reward was to go home a relax once I was finished reading that boring text book or whatever.

That's what my roommate last year always had to do. Apparently I'm a bright and shiney distraction. :D

Write a paper on the psychology of religion and how your beliefs on each would make you a benefit to any University campus. And write it in Spanish.
There... that solves four assignments in one paper. :)

I think WB's response was, by far, the most helpful. :D

Lol WB I wish I could, but unfortunatly, I don't think all my teachers would appreciate that too much haha.
Thanks for the advice Vegashorselady.
