It seems like Willie is going to have enough character to rivel Toby's. Not sure if that is going to be a good thing or not. LOL.
So yesterday was when I first introduced him to the brush. He didn't mind it but didn't seem to overly enjoy it either. And he was being a brat and not letting me anywhere near his head. I believe with this horse when I finally get his head its going to show a big step in the trust factor with him. Exact opposite of Bandit who will give you his head but hides his shoulder (especially on the side where he was freezebranded - so I think that has something to do with it).
So today I stepped into his stall and step up to him and brush his shoulder. Just a little bit. He kept his head over the side of the stall and looked at me out of the corner of his eye. Then I stepped back and just leaned against the door to see what would happen. He seemed to wait for me to start again and when I didn't - he side stepped all the way up to me - 4 good steps, still keeping his head over the stall wall and away from me. LOL. So I brushed him some more and then he side-stepped away. He did this for a while - the same side.
Then he turned his head toward me up over the stall wall and then quickly turned on his haunches so the other side was towards me - still not his head. Then he side steps towards me from that way and waits - obviously expecting me to brush that side!
After that he would get one side brushed, turn on his haunches and then side step up to me for the other side to be brushed - about 5 times. I think the brat has me trained! :p
