I know you are not suppose to give chocolate to dogs, it can make them very sick and even kill them.:(.. But what about chickens? I have a stale and expired box of chocolate rice crispies. I was wondering if I can give it to my chickens. The chickens get all kinds of things to eat except meat. They love everything I give them. But not sure if chocolate is OK for birds?? Any one know?

Well I hate to admit it, but I don't know. My chickens ate Coco Puffs last week that the kids had spilled in the pantry and I swept them up in the dust pan and threw them out to the chickens....and they are still alive (and wanting more). :p

I know most pet birds should not have chocolate because it can be fatal to them. I wouldn't risk it.

Here you go:

Seems humans can get chocolate poisoning as well if we eat enough of it. We just bigger and metabolize it faster so it doesn't effect us as quickly as our smaller pets.
